EuroLeague CEO warns NBA Europe: If no agreement, we must continue our plans

New York - EuroLeague CEO Mr. Tchous Bueno stated that if no agreement is reached with NBA on cooperation, we will continue our expansion plans. He emphasized that the two parties may collaborate for mutual benefit, but if not, we must prepare for direct competition. NBA Europe, the new NBA league, will launch in 2027 with a total investment of up to $10 billion for the first decade. EuroLeague is currently preparing for expansion to strengthen its negotiating position before the new league starts operations. Adam Silver, the head of NBA, also publicly acknowledged his close relationship with Mr. Bueno while admitting some points of friction. This race could have a major impact on the European basketball market, with the risk of value fragmentation if the two sides compete directly. EuroLeague emphasizes the importance of local identity, which has lasted more than 100 years.
